Asta Barrington

Asta lives and works in the beautiful city of Bath in the south west of England. She studied at London’s prestigious Royal College of Art postgraduate college, where she specialised in embroidered textiles. She then went on to design and create her own label artisan hand dyed embroidered scarves and blankets in luxury fibres of cashmere and silk. These sold for years in many top stores worldwide, such as Barneys New York and Japan, The Cross and Designers Guild in London.

After relocating to Bath her work evolved into designing patterns for interior products for top manufacturers and these have also seen global success. Her original design inspirations have remained consistent throughout her career. Folk art, flea market finds, paper ephemera and world textiles all continue to interest her together with a lifelong passion for colour. Her signature style consists of complex intricate patterns that entwine to form larger motifs, in particular creatures such as fantastical fish and cheeky songbirds.
